Well, that's different...
Nov. 3rd, 2009 02:20 pmWith all of the hoopla of being caught up in NaNo, it completely slipped my mind that
oz_magi wishes would be available for claiming today, so I was happily surprised to see the list go up. In the past, it's been one of those days where I've been obsessively refreshing my friends page to see when the wishes go "live". Oz Magi is one of those things that is near and dear to my heart because that's where I started reading fanfic and what got me into LJ and more into Oz in the first place. It's fun to see those odd requests that pop up every year and discover which requests are going to make me squeal like a kid in a candy shop (there's always one) and which ones I'm going to look forward to reading come January 1st. There's a lot of good stuff on the list, so fellow Oz-zites should go and get to claiming.
By the way, my NaNo count is over 7000. I'm trying to overwrite it now because I have the feeling that either a) I'm going to slow down considerably in the next 27 days or b) I'm going to have to edit the hell out of the puppy by the time December 1 rolls around. Actually, choice "b" is pretty much a given at this point. And I love my male lead so much that I'm getting disgusted with my female lead for causing him angst (even though things will turn around at some point).

Date: 2009-11-03 08:59 pm (UTC)Don't worry about editing this month-remember that's the number one rule on NaNo-just write this month and then edit next month (or whenever you want to do it).
I'm looking forward to doing Oz Magi this year again, too. There are some great requests I want to try and fulfill.

Date: 2009-11-04 04:07 pm (UTC)Oz Magi looks like fun, doesn't it?
On a completely unrelated note, I'm a little disappointed by the Phillies - what were they thinking, not letting Cliff Lee pitch game four? (I have a little crush on Cliff Lee) Because pitching games 1, 4, and 7 were entirely possible, but 1, 5, and 7, not so much. So, considering he's done with the Series, if your Yanks wanna end it now, I'm okay with it.

Date: 2009-11-04 10:03 pm (UTC)I love Oz Magi-there were so many good ones I had trouble choosing.I didn't get a chance to make a wish, for myself, though, which is kind of a bummer.
I had heard that they asked Cliff Lee if he wanted to pitch in game 4,and he said he couldn't. I suppose he didn't think he'd be ready on three days rest.
I was annoyed with Joe Girardi for pitching A.J.Burnett on three days rest. He needs to be rested-he's way too volatile a pitcher. If he gets a bit wild or something goes wrong he can blow up -which he did. It was much more likely to happen on 3 days rest. Now Andy has to try it. I'm trying not to get worried. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it ends tonight!
I kind of like Cliff Lee myself. Actually, I like the Phillies. I
rooted for them last year. You know -if the Yankees hadn't won I
would've actually rooted for the Angels (OMFG- I should wash out my mouth with soap, lol).I really was impressed with the way they held
together after Nick Adenhart died, and the way they toasted him when
they celebrated was very touching,as was Jered's Weaver's constant remembrance of him everytime he pitched. Sorry-I love to talk baseball :)

Date: 2009-11-06 02:58 pm (UTC)*sighs and shakes head* In retrospect, it might not have mattered, but at the same time, I think we coddle the pitchers too much now. My dad was telling me some story about a pitcher that pitched a complete game 5 and won it, came in the next game in the 10th inning to win it, and then pitched and won in game 7. I really wish I could remember the guy's name or the era when he pitched.
I don't mind the Yankees. They are one of my favorite ball teams and it never seems quite right having the post season without them. For us National League folks, it doesn't seem real to win the championship w/o beating the Yanks.
Not that I would've minded seeing a re-run of the 2006 World Series, of course. And I'm sure the Yankees feel okay even though they didn't have to beat the Cards or the Dodgers for the title.
