My fanfic stuff has really fallen by the wayside recently and not necessarily for lack of effort. I've started three different pieces of Giles/Xander fanfic and they all seem pretty awful (and I feel responsible to get something else out there while the Fall Fest is running). There's also something that I'm working on for the
whichwillow community that's due in December, but I'm having a love-hate relationship with it. The Firefly assignment for
rayne_shippers is not going well at all. And to top it off, I've also tried writing something McManus-y for
hardtime100 but it's not coming as well as I'd hoped either.
On the other hand, the stuff for Great Risks still needs editing, but the writing itself is okay and I left off with that in a very good place.
It could be that NaNo is coming up in a couple weeks and I'm consumed with the idea of a new project and needing to get some idea of what to do with the characters I'm writing. Has anyone else who has done NaNo in the previous years had this sort of falling off with their other writing as they approached November 1?
By the way, I'm signed up on the NaNo site as cmk418. I'm sure I'll be around on LJ though keeping everyone informed of my progress and maybe even posting a thing or two (provided I can complete something I'm happy with).
