So, I'm doing my good deed for the day, taking my mom to the library so she can tutor this guy she's been helping for years. I pull into the parking lot, park (manage to scrape the cinderblock curbs in front of the car) but nothing too big, get out of the car and open the door.

Which happens to bump into the guy's car next to me.

Next thing I know, this South St. Louis punk is screaming at me because I hit his car. I'm thinking "no", hit the curb. My mom is explaining that the car hit the curb with his rude but reasonable wife. The guy is yelling that I have damaged his $40K car with my door (there was a miniscule scrape - more like an impact dot, really). His wife keeps going on and on, insulting my mom, which was uncalled for, and then she says "it's not that big a deal, the car has hail damage anyway, insurance is going to cover it."

Good god, all that drama for that. I'm still keyed up. The yelling at me went on for a good few minutes - it was ridiculous.

Some people are just too high-strung for their own good.

Oi. Hate it when crap like that happens. I've managed to get into two fender benders and a crash in the past year, but luckily each time the other people were really cool about it.

Was he young? Like, twenties? Most people who bother to shell out that much on a car these days are either young and stupid or they want to feel young.

OK using my qué puta madre face (WTF! Face). No worries, love. That was good karma investment.
