Had to run over to one of the studios today to do a pick up for work. The job wasn't ready, usually I'm in and out of there, but today I had to wait. And as I'm waiting all these people are going in and out of offices. And they're all younger than me. Or at least they look that way (actually, I've been told I look 5 or more years younger than my actual age), but all these folks did too and it was more than a little depressing. So that got me thinking to Charles Crichton and the tiny bit of trivia that I remembered about him. In 1989 (when I saw nearly everything that was nominated for an Academy Award), at the age of 78, he was nominated for Directing and Original Screenplay for "A Fish Called Wanda". So, it can happen. I'm not even half that old yet (close, but not quite). And as I was looking up the spelling of his name on imdb, I saw that his first script wasn't produced until he was in his late 40s. There's time.
When I start talking about women who have had babies in their 50s, though, please stop me.
