Sometimes I wish I had a camera phone

Last night I managed to catch the train at Hollywood/Vine at the worst possible time, so I decided to get off at Hollywood/Highland (home of the Kodak Theater) and check things out. It's an unusual scene. First coming face to side profile with the biggest Oscar statuette I've ever seen, It's the one that flanks the entrance to the building and where, I'm sure, a lot of photo ops take place. And there's bleachers and the whole nine yards when it comes to security. I felt sorry for the poor guys who had to stand in the wind and 50 degree weather last night. But the weirdest, strangest funniest thing I saw was as I was leaving, I happened to peek out through the bleachers and there's a me-sized Oscar facing out toward the street, I mean to say, away from me. It's shrouded in plastic. And I'm staring at the ass of this statue, literally, and thinking of how much I really would love to have a camera phone to capture the moment.
Oh, if I haven't mentioned it, I'm pulling for "The Departed" to win.
