Well I'm back.
It's good to be home, although it was warmer when I left Saint Louis than when I landed here in L.A. It seems ridiculously chilly now and it's probably not much below 60.
Thanksgiving was very nice. I enjoyed seeing my family, caught a hockey game, and even went to see a movie ("Happy Feet" with my niece and my brother). And I got my first two seasons of Oz back.
My brother told a story about his daughter. Apparently, she bit some little girl at preschool because the little girl was either talking to, playing with, or took one of the toys from this little boy that my niece has taken under her wing. I start laughing and lean over to my sister and whisper "She's got a prag." Which has the effect of sending my sister into giggles (she may have only seen 2 episodes, but she gets the lingo).
Back to work tomorrow. It'll be whatever it'll be.

Date: 2006-11-29 04:48 am (UTC)I thought "Happy Feet" was cute, but I couldn't believe what they got away with. Kids like my niece wouldn't have gotten some of those messages that were thrown in there (maybe my brain just automatically associates things with the gay movement as it stands). At one point I gave my brother a look that meant "can you believe they're talking so freely about tolerance and using some of the same rhetoric we hear the uber-conservatives use against queer folk today?" It was pretty cool to see it just placed out in the open in the film like that. I'm surprised there haven't been protests. Maybe I should check out capalert (this organization that rates movies on a moral scale) and see what they say about it.
Will there be dancing penguins in the final fandango??? (You knew I was going to ask).
