Vacation!

It's been years since I've been anywhere by myself (that wasn't a business trip) and it's been several months since I've had the house to myself for a few hours. So I've arranged a breakout.

Nothing too big. I'm going to take the car and drive a couple hundred miles to Springfield IL where I'll see either the new(ish) Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, or I'll drive a couple hundred miles to Springfield IL where I'll fritter a couple of days away in the hotel enjoying the peace and quiet, reading, writing, and watching movies on pay-per-view completely undisturbed.

It's not until the first week of February but I can't wait!

It sounds like it will be fun! I love being in a nice hotel, relaxing and reading,writing and watching movies. The Lincoln Library and Museum sounds like it would be fun as well as interesting. I hope you have a wonderful time(and lol for calling it a "breakout.").

Thanks! We went to Springfield for different things when I was growing up but this is the first time I've been there since they've built the Library and Museum. I booked a room with a spa tub in it so I might be quite waterlogged by the time the vacation is over. :)
