I'm trying to do this more often. Work has gotten different. Haven't seen the boss in a while and when I do it's only for a few minutes at a time. We had a new contractor starting this week and it's both an exercise in patience and tact (that's been difficult), but things are trending more positively. We'll see if that's still the case next week.
Mom & I went to see "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". I like Tarantino films but this one had a different feel to it. It was tense, but more settled than his other films. I would have actually liked it to be less part of that particular moment in time (because you knew what was going to happen) and actually follow the characters a little further down the road. I didn't feel like I wasted my time, but I also didn't feel that I gained anything for the 2 1/2 hours of run time. We did see it at one of my favorite theaters- I'm finding myself more and more drawn to movie theaters where the seating isn't assigned.
More than half of the trip plans are done. Only Madison and Peoria to go. I'm really looking forward to it.
My sister is taking me out on Saturday for a pre-birthday celebration. I have no idea what she has planned but it'll be fun.
Wrote close to 2000 words last night breaking down the NBC Sports television schedule for hockey. I've done it for the past few years and it has gotten better. Still not perfect, but inching that way.
That's all for now. It's late and I should probably go to bed. Have to work tomorrow and then it's a 4-day weekend. Huzzah!

Date: 2019-08-09 12:58 pm (UTC)I saw "OUAT in Hollywood" last week as well. I thought it was overlong (didn't really need that huge scene in the saloon) but the acting was phenomenal and the ending was so cathartic. So it got a big thumbs up from me.
Hope you enjoy your pre-birthday shenanigans!

Date: 2019-08-15 01:43 am (UTC)It definitely beat the heck out of staying home and listening to my dad and his church buddies play poker for three hours.
