Update

So, the procedure went smoothly. Nothing found, which in itself was a bit of a pleasant surprise. For the record, 2.6 pounds lost between yesterday morning before prep and today before the procedure. I saw a number on the scale that I'd like to see again, so I'm going to have to start working toward that.

Other than that, since my last "real" update, I've been able to go to choir practice a couple of times, which has been nice. I'm helping my dad to get more secure with his walking so that when we're able to go to the hockey game next week, he's able to go with me. I've been writing, but I haven't been particularly happy with a lot of it.

I did start vacation planning for Chicago in mid-May. I'm looking forward to it. It'll be nice to get away and see a couple of friends up there. The American Writers' Museum is having an event that I'm hoping to attend when I'm there, so that'll be fun (I spent about 5 hours in the museum the last time I was there.)

Great to hear that everything went well! And just think, you never have to drink that vile concoction again, *and* you're down 2+ pounds to boot. Win-win, I say. :D

Did not know there was an American Writers Museum. It looks really interesting.

Well, the weight loss was mainly a result of the prep. Now that I'm eating solid food again, it'll creep up a bit.

It is a wonderful place. And while not being free, they do offer a nice discount for first-time visitors and it's really worth seeing.

Oooh, I've been wanting to visit Chicago for most of my life. Eventually, I'll get there. Good to hear you've been getting out to practice and helping your dad out, too.

Chicago is a wonderful place. I went to college there and then lived there for another 6 years after that. I hope you're able to get out if his way at some point. If you go in May or September you might be able to catch what I call the 5 good days, which are 5 consecutive days of not too hot/not too cold/not rainy weather.

Yeah, never any fun, but so important.

I was born outside of Peoria, IL, so it's always been a place I wanted to visit. Plus, I'm a Cubs fan so gotta visit Wrigley, right? I will get out there one day and hahahahaha - I can't even imagine what the weather is like there during the summer. The rain I can deal with, too humid and too cold, not so much. :D

I love Peoria. I've been there twice- once to see a hockey game (the Blues minor-league affiliate used to be the Rivermen, so it was cool seeing the pics of all the old teams) and another as we were passing through on the way home from Wisconsin- we spent some time at the Caterpillar museum (which is a great place).

Wrigley is awesome. The first time I was there, I felt like I was going into a baseball cathedral. A very cold cathedral because the dorm where I lived was given tickets in the shade, in April, but it was still a fun experience.

I haven't been back there since my grandmother died in 1990. But I remember my uncle and grandfather talking about the Rivermen. Too funny about the Caterpillar museum since I think half my family worked at the factory at one time or another. My grandparents even met there, if I'm not mistaken.

I can imagine. It looks amazing in pictures and on TV. One day, it's on my list!
