It Was (Is) A Dark and Stormy Night

It's thundering and lightning like crazy outside and I am not a fan, particularly when these storms hit right at the time I need to be in bed asleep. I've tried it with a pillow over my head but it doesn't work very well and it's hot. Wah! So I'm up.

I've done a little writing lately, not as much as I'd like, but it's never as much as I'd like. I did some more painting tonight before all this nonsense started. It's another abstract on metal. I got some glow-in-the-dark paint and first painted the whole thing with a blue/green/black mix and then let it dry and did a bunch of lines with the glow in the dark paint- they're not quite as heavy as I'd like, but it's still pretty nice looking. One of these days I'll take pics of the three newest ones but today is not that day.

I trimmed my dad's hair tonight. Didn't think he'd take me up on the offer, but it was driving me crazy and he's half bald so he thinks going to the barber is a waste of money. It turned out okay, but I know the folks at the salon would do a better job.

Might try wrapping this up for a bit. Maybe there's a hockey replay I can watch for an hour or so.

Ugh, I feel you on this! Part of it is that we get so little rain that when it does storm, it's bad. Plus, Violet HATES the lightning and thunder and becomes Fraidy Cat Extreme. Hopefully you managed to get to bed not long after this.

Please, when you're ready, post pics! I'd love to see what you've been creating.

Thanks. It's annoying. I feel like I've accumulated hundreds of prompts and I just look at them and think "meh".

Violet is my spirit animal when it comes to storms- I'm not as bad as I used to be, but I'll sleep with a light on if it's lightning to minimize the flashes and the anxiety that comes with it while I wait for the thunder.

I will. I'm debating now on where to put the newly completed one. I have wall space but I don't like the idea of it getting too cluttered. There's something about staring at a blank wall that's very calming.

I can understand that! Taylor's been staying at my in-laws' house this week, so her curtains stayed open overnight. The lightning was so bright it woke me from a dead sleep. Sorry that they're so tough for you. *hugs*

And speaking of which, it just started to rain here. LOL

I agree on the blank wall. It's nice to have something with nothing on it but paint.
