After a week and a half of trying to get my phone jack replaced, apparently, at some point yesterday, it was (I'm a bit skeptical). Nothing, however, has changed. Still the same weak dial tone overriden by static. So I made the decision to get rid of my dial-up (and my phone) and go the cable internet route. Of course, there's nothing available for this weekend, Memorial Day weekend, I'll be out of town, so that means I won't be hooked up until June 2. I'll still try to sneak through the occasional post from work every now and then.

Odds and ends - the Cardinal-Dodger game last night was awesome. Loved it. Shame that one of my favorite teams had to lose though (but it was about time for a Cardinal victory). I filled out the ballot for the All-Star team. Most of my votes were split between the Dodgers, Cubs and Cardinals with one random one going to Edgar Renteria of the Braves. And Nomar beat out Pujols. I didn't really expect that to happen, but basing it on this season, it just made sense.

-They killed Christopher on "The Sopranos". What is it with the final episodes of HBO dramas that they feel this necessity to kill everyone in sight?

-Ortolani fic pending. I broke down and rented episodes 1-3 from Netflix. Expect June to be Ortolani/O'Reily month - ironically, that is Pride month.

-Has anyone else seen "The Prestige"? That's one wild movie. I fully recommend it.

-And, I can't believe I'm saying this, but, LET'S GO DUCKS!

Whee! One thing to look forward to in June, though! :D
