Fangirl time
Jun. 3rd, 2007 09:15 pmOkay, so I never really thought it would happen to me - that I would turn into a squeeing, giddy fangirl, but they dangled the "Ocean's Thirteen" Red Carpet Premiere in front of me, so I'm going to have to go. And it's not the thought of seeing George Clooney (who my mom wants me to pick up) or Ellen Barkin (who my dad wants me to pick up) or even Angelina Jolie (could she be persuaded to come look at the new tile in my bathroom, do you think?). No, no. The draw for me is Steven Soderbergh (provided he's there, of course). I've seen a bunch of writers/directors that I admire since I've been living here in LA - Todd Haynes (twice), Gus Van Sant, John Sayles, Greg Berlanti (who I actually had a conversation with) - but never the guy who had the biggest influence on my decision to write. So I'm going to have to leave work early on Tuesday and try to get a good spot amidst all the fangirls who are yelling for George, Brad, and Matt. Should be an experience if nothing else.
I was scanning through sections of "Oz" tonight and I really feel that Season two is all about McManus & Said (B/K fans, I'll give you Season 3). They always seem to have scenes together and that last shot of the two of them looking at each other after Said refuses clemency screams volumes about their relationship. Love it. One thing I do not love is I seem to have developed a skip during "Works of Mercy". It was freezing up in some points. Sad.
I just remembered, I need to read all the feedback on what happened on tonight's episode of "The Sopranos". They always manage to do something big during the penultimate episode of each season, so I'm expecting major character death.
