Odds & Ends
Aug. 4th, 2007 09:07 amYes, the next installment of Great Risks will be out before I leave for vacation on Thursday. I just have to get it into something that would be worth seeing.
Got a raise at work. Our office is not the type to give cost of living or merit increases every year, so every couple of years or so, I have to pull them aside and tell them it's time for a pay increase. And I actually negotiated up from what they wanted to give me - that was nice.
Why is it seemingly impossible to pay my on-line service provider on-line? And why is theirs the only website that freezes up when I access it?
This is the worst time of the year for me to be having dental problems. Especially with the vacation (and Mom's cooking!) coming up. I'll have to see if I can get an emergency appointment, even though I no longer have any idea who my dentist is. (I go to the dental school at USC - get a new dentist every year or two).
Went and saw the movie "Once" at my brother's recommendation. I've been wanting to see it for some time, just never got around to it. The soundtrack rocks and the story is beautifully romantic.
I'm going to be coloring my hair today, part of the annual "I'm getting older, but I don't have to look older" tradition.
I will stop for Julianne Moore in anything - as evidenced in my pause for a few moments of "The Forgotten" last night. And, yes, I stuck around long enough to see Lee Tergesen.
I have a strong desire to watch some Season One "Oz". I want to figure out what had me tuning back in - I'd swear it was just a stray line of dialogue from Sister Pete (of all people) in the fourth or fifth episode that did it.

Date: 2007-08-04 09:19 pm (UTC)I had dental problems recently, and it was horrendous,so I understand what you're going through. I hope it's taken care of by the time you go on vacation.
It's funny that you mention Julianne Moore because she is one of my favorites, and I just saw her the other day on TCM.She was doing one of those spots where an actor talks about a film legend, and she was doing one on Myrna Loy. She said if she had Myrna's upturned nose she could have played her grand daughter.
I think she could've done it anyway. Maybe if they do a movie about Myrna Loy(another one of my all time favorite actresses) she could play her.
What was the line from Sr. Pete-did you remember it?
Re:The next installment of "Great Risks"-I'm loooking forward to it, and glad you'll have it done before you go on vacation!

Yeah, the next installment is like walking a tightrope right now, just trying to find the right balance to make everything that will follow it believable. So it might not be what I first envisioned, but it'll be something that will work with the series.
