It's nice to be home. Work's been a bit odd lately - more than likely one of those "just back from vacation" things. I'll probably spend today cleaning the apartment (it needs it) then watching baseball & football.

Got to see two incredible baseball games while in St. Louis. The August 9 game was the best (because my loyalties weren't split). My favorite player (Yadier Molina) got 3 hits and the guy I've wanted the team to bring up since March (Rick Ankiel) hit a 3-run homer. The game on the 12th was nice since the Cards won, but I had mixed feelings since the Dodgers lost (and looked fairly pathetic out there). I also managed to get my niece to say she's rooting for the Cubs - the look on my brother's face was priceless. This weekend's series sees my loyalties split again. I think whichever team wins the series will win the division (especially since Milwaukee seems to becoming a non-factor).

By the way, the first day back at work, guess what was sitting on my desk? My Oz Season One DVD - so I guess that's the lender copy.

I received a jury summons. Guess I'll have to call and register, but it's really just a waste of the court's and my time for me to go in. With what I do (coupled with the fact I'm not paid for jury duty), I'll never be selected - last time I sat in the gallery during jury selection and couldn't decide if I was going to go with "All defendants are guilty" or "All pro-pers are idiots" for my way out.

Watched "The Illusionist" last night. It was okay. I love Edward Norton and Rufus Sewell, but something seemed flat. "The Prestige" was a far better movie.

I Loved The Prestige. I've been meaning to watch the Illusionist but could not bring myself to do so.

Is it the Jessica Biel factor? Because she's pretty annoying. The best thing about "The Illusionist" was Paul Giamatti's performance. Everybody else seemed to just phone it in.

She was part of it. But after watching the prestige, I didn't think the illusionist would be as good.

*sighs* I know. I had the game on last night (after listening to the Cardinals lose/Cubs win through 2 rain delays) - that had to be awful being there that long and not seeing a win. Hope they do better for us today.

They *almost* blew it! I thought for sure they were going to lose...they relied on Martinez to bring in a run? He got lucky!

*sighs* I wish I had more time. I need to re-watch the previous seasons of OZ before I start watching S6, but I'm too busy at the moment. :(

Hill's death is the one thing that has the biggest impact on S6. Other than that, I wouldn't worry too much.

Of course, I would love you to get re-interested in OZ, if for nothing else than to possibly write another O'Reily/McManus fic. *bats eyes prettily*

Oh yeah, and season 6 is pretty much the season of McManus - he's all over the last episode (as he should be).
