Challenging

I've decided to use the month of September to write a script. I've had an idea in mind for a while but just need to get it down. It's been quite some time since I've done any serious screenwriting, so that's a little intimidating for me. But I have the time - there are 5 full weekends and a holiday in the month to devote to it.

There's no better feeling in the world than writing. I just need to remind myself of that and often.

Today felt like a day and a half at work and I still have to go back to that place again tomorrow. My brain is trying to convince me it's Friday night, but the calendar tells an entirely different story. I have a stack of typing on my desk (a third of which seems to have been generated in the past 24 hours). We hired a new guy yesterday. I hope he works out. Our office has the strangest interview process. There is none. We bring someone in, talk to them for a minute or two and then that's it. I tried to get my boss to promise that we wouldn't necessarily hire the first person that came through the door, but since the girl he's replacing is leaving tomorrow, the boss got a little nervous and gave the first guy the job anyway.

Watched "The Lookout" last night. I love Scott Frank, but it just didn't feel as strong as some of his other work.

I did manage to write a wee bit for McManus today so I feel much, much better.

I've been meaning to watch The Lookout for months now, but I didn' t find the time for it yet. But, mmm, Matthew Goode... :P

This is the first time I've seen him in anything, but he reminded me a bit of Nicky Katt. He really did a nice job with the part especially toward the end. And he is quite easy on the eyes as well.

I only know promo pics of Matthew in The Lookout, and he looks totally unlike himself there. A lot rougher, and to be honest I'm yet undecided whether it's a good look from him.

I've last seen him in Chasing Liberty (though I'll only admit under torture to liking that movie ;P), and in Imagine Me & You and Matchpoint before. He was rather slashy with Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the latter...

Hmm. I've seen Imagine Me & You and I really don't remember him. So it must have been some transformation from that film to this one. Of course, it may have just been that I was distracted by other elements of that film !-)

He's been the groom in Imagine Me & You (bad pic, but the best I could find quickly), a rather sweet, if not exactly remarkable character. I admit that it was only because of him I watched the movie. Of course, now that I've seen 300, I'd pay more attention to Lena Headey! ;P

Thanks for the link to the pic. No wonder I couldn't reconcile that character with the character in The Lookout.

I know what you mean. I keep looking at the promo pics from The Lookout and think, "WTF, Matthew?!"
