So the person who does quite a bit of the office work has basically said that she's going to leave unless her mileage in gets paid for. (She lives about 68 miles out). When it comes down to training another person to do all her work and getting them up to speed, it'll take at least six months. It's total and complete horseshit. And if we keep her, we lose our part-time help - not really too big of a deal. (However, the renovation on the garage project remains intact). Wifey is so short-sighted it's not funny and my co-worker really doesn't want to leave, but things like this make us feel very unappreciated (and that's a fairly big understatement).

Date: 2007-11-19 09:45 pm (UTC)Is 68 miles a lot? Or a little. Let me check.
109 km. Well, it's not terrible. But it's not great. Does she live out of town? Or something? Does she not feel she's getting paid enough for her work?
IS SHE SHINY AND GOLDEN AND DOES EVERYONE ELSE HAVE TO RUB HER FOR LUCK?
Because, up in Canada, 109 km, well, seriously. Can't she start taking the bus, or something? Cheaper and better for the environment.

Date: 2007-11-19 11:48 pm (UTC)The pay with regards to the amount of work we have to do is pretty terrible and if she leaves then the work she does will be split between me and the other office person. Not fun since I'm already screaming for additional help for the three of us.
Are you feeling better BTW?
