Strange thing that makes me a little bit happy (hockey-related)

Darren McCarty has been recalled by the hated Wings. I was just remarking the other day to my dad that it was such a shame that they traded him when they did, because if ever there was a man destined to be captain of a particular franchise, it was McCarty with the Wings.

BTW, it should be mentioned now that I was a big fan of Claude Lemieux when he played, so in light of that fact, you can probably imagine how I feel about McCarty.

And Kris Draper, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Well, it looks like the hated Wings are finally gearing up for the playoffs.

No need to run. I'm just glad somebody else out there pays attention to hockey (even if it is to the hated Wings)

Yeah, I'm not what you'd call an Avs fan... but I swear, every time I see the name "Roy" in print I say wah in my head. 'Oh, Wah Scheider died... goddammit, Roy Scheider died,' I say to myself.

That's funny. I rooted for the Avs for a while many years ago, but now I'm pretty much dealing with situational alliances (like in the case today, where I have to hope that the hated Wings actually win because they're playing Nashville who the Hawks have to pass in order to get to the playoffs).
