Catching Up
Dec. 1st, 2009 08:46 amA bit of a whirlwind week, but I've been peeking at the site off and on. So, as Monk would say, here's what happened:
Last Tuesday, I hit the end of the novel. 56,294 words according to the NaNo verifier. Not as many as I'd have hoped, but I still made the goal.
Wednesday, I had lunch with a couple of friends from high school. I declared my undying lust for Rachel Maddow to one of my friends (who I've never officially come out to) so hopefully that set the lightbulb off. (Are there straight girls that lust after her? I don't know.)
Thursday, Thanksgiving - loads of food. Friday, shopping.
Saturday, Tree-trimming and met my brother's 24 y.o. girlfriend (he's 37). She reminds me a lot of my former boss' wife, but without the charm (look in the archives for June or July 2008 as a reference if you need one).
Sunday was my Dad's birthday - more good food (and he's now got seasons 1 & 2 of Mad Men, which means I get to watch them willy-nilly) and then yesterday was another shopping day - and I actually bought things this time!
So, really... food, food, more food, and plenty of shopping was the story of the week that was. I have to work on both my Oz Magi and my whichwillow assignments this week.

Date: 2009-12-04 11:20 am (UTC)I did the mini one this year and ended up with 33,000 some odd words! I have no idea how I did that. I think it helped that it didn't have to be a novel, just a number of words per day.
It sounds like you had a good week. Shopping, food and spending some time with family is always nice.
Also, a Monk reference! Are you a fan? I'm a huge fan of Monk and am really disappointed that the show is ending.
I'm also dreading the finale. Most of the shows I watch fail epically when it comes to finales,so I'm anticipating being disappointed.
I(very stupidly)decided to do two stories for reel_torchwood. I've finished one and I'm starting the other. Both are due on the 11th.
I also am doing Oz Magi, and a Secret Santa fic thing on Doctor/Donna (from Doctor Who,see icon).
Good luck with your fics!

Date: 2009-12-10 02:44 pm (UTC)Haven't watched the Monk finale yet. I heard about it from my parents and it's still on demand, so I might watch it when I'm alone and have a box of tissues handy.
The Oz Magi fic is shaping up nicely. My whichwillow fic, which is actually due on the 15th is stalled a bit. I hope you have made good progress on your second Torchwood fic (especially since it's due tomorrow). Happy writing!
