I think I've got my clock situation fixed. It had me in a completely different time zone so when I'd post something else I'd have to use backdate or go in the first and play around with it. This is boring, I know, but there's loads of bitching ahead.

Yesterday started off pretty crappy - I was working on mail (my least favorite thing) for the entire morning and then at 12:45, one of our runners brings me in a new stack of stuff. Then I went to my favorite client and got caught in the traffic jam from hell on the way back. I saw the problem and took the detour, but everybody else was doing the same thing. And then if that wasn't enough - at my regular Friday meeting, a bunch of people that I had counted on for various things either didn't show up or were so caught up in their own dramas that they couldn't help out, so I was stuck running the show. It got better when I actually got to the one part that I was actually supposed to do and had prepared for. And surprisingly the leaders' meeting that followed didn't suck too badly. So I was emotionally and physically exhausted when I got home.

Oh, and the Blackhawks-Ducks game that was supposed to be televised here turned out to be next Saturday. So it's just the World Series for me tonight & maybe I'll listen to the Hawks on the internet.

BTW, I know there's one of the Ozzites who writes Mulder/Krycek fic - I can't remember who at the moment, but there is a xover prompt over on [livejournal.com profile] slashfest for an O'Reily/Krycek fic. I'm not sure about taking any prompts for myself, but I had no idea about the various things that could be slashed. And for someone who has been reading Oz fic for just a few months, and no fic of this kind before that, I'd like to know - is slash with women (example - Buffy/Willow) even done? I'm not looking to branch out, I'm just curious.

Between the inability to download the Hawks game with real Hawks announcers and also the clock on the post to change (& I have to do math in my head to figure out the 24 hour time), I'm a bit aggravated. The Blues just scored and that puts the cherry on it. Oh, and my boy Martin Havlat is injured. And now I just tried to adjust the volume by hitting the brightness controls. Sad.

And my St. Louis streaming audio just decided to go crazy on me. Trying the Chicago side again. It kept stopping before. It sounds okay. I really prefer the Chicago guys. Best announcers in the game.

And it looks like the Cards are ::whispering so as not to jinx it:: putting it away.

I was thinking of a few things about the two sports I love that piss me off. (I like football, but truth be told, I wouldn't be able to put forth a good argument either for or against it). These are the perspectives of a 37-year-old fan of hockey (since the early 80s) & baseball (mid 70s, but possibly had knowledge of the game since she was a zygote). And I'll put this behind a cut so as not to tick off any 19-year old Bruins/Red Sox fans** that are out there.

Things that should be changed )

I think I need to write some more fic soon. It seems a little deserted around here these days, maybe it's just the time of year or something.

**BTW, I'm not picking on 19-year-olds from Boston. It was just the first example that came to mind.
