Long freaking day
Nov. 21st, 2006 09:51 pmI don't know what made everybody and their sister want to call the office today, but I was not amused. My boss even called, which threw me & I think he's checking the e-mail from the road. Absolutely ridiculous. But despite all this, me and the rest of the office staff is having a wonderful time. Part of it is the fact that we're eating well - for some reason we've been making full breakfasts every morning - eggs, bacon, coffee, toast - tomorrow we'll add hashbrowns and pancakes to the mix, part of it is that we play the radio at ridiculously high volumes all day long, part of it is that I believe in climate control - the minute the thermostat reaches 76, on goes the AC. But the heart of the matter is that despite all this, we're actually getting our work done. I've gotten more done in the past two days than the previous two weeks - putting in 10-11 hour days doesn't hurt a whole lot either. And I still have a pile of typing on my desk that our biggest client (who doesn't give us any money) will be having a fit about within the next week or two - I'm still on October's work.
I plan to do some work on the next part of the O'Reily thing tonight because I really would like to get it on the site before I head in to work tomorrow. This has been one helluva fun project. I'm a little sad to see it in, but there's a couple interactions that I would like to see for Ryan (that didn't make the cut) and they will probably be separate stories in the future. I could do a McManus series. Which maybe only two or three of you would read, but that would be a lot of fun. Probably the only thing that would be less looked at would be if I wrote Claire. (I'm a big fan of writing for ever-dwindling audiences). My brain just hit Claire-Keller, I think I broke it. Okay, off to get Ryan lucky.
