Saturday Evening Post
Jun. 2nd, 2007 06:36 pmIt is so nice to be able to write this in the comfort of my own apartment. I've spent the better part of the day catching up on things that I haven't been able to read in the office. And yes, I'll be back to posting like a maniac soon enough. Possibly even later tonight.
Got the Stanley Cup finals game in the background. I'm rooting for Ottawa today basically since I want to see a seven-game series (no matter the outcome). They've got a period and a half to turn it around. By the way, I watched the first game on Versus when I was in St. Louis and the play-by-play guys weren't too bad. And they have the most articulate female broadcaster I've seen in ages. Much better than the eye-candy that was on ABC last season. I think what impressed me most was the lack of cliches. Now I've got to deal with NBC. Guess I'll just mute Brett Hull during the intermission.
And if anybody can explain to me why FOX feels it necessary to show every Yankees-Red Sox series (I swear they seem to have played six Saturdays this season already) in markets that really couldn't care less about the Yankees-Red Sox, I'd love to know.
Ottawa just scored. Nearly disallowed. I wonder if Brett Hull will have anything to say about that between periods. Maybe I shouldn't mute him after all. Extra bonus points to anyone who understands what I'm referring to with that comment.
