Checking In
Mar. 16th, 2012 11:24 pm I feel like I haven't posted for ages. Job situation still iffy - I think I'll feel a little more secure once we have a little more to do - it's been dead there lately.
I'm going to actually participate in ScriptFrenzy this year - it's the NaNo of screenwriting, taking place in April.
I have signed up for the Justified "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" fic exchange. It seems pretty loose at the moment, but I'm a little nervous that there won't be a huge market for the secondary characters.
I'm wanting to write a Justified story about Dewey Crow - mostly a snapshot of different moments in his life. And one about Quarles because he fascinates me, but right now it's kicking my ass.
Loving the hockey in St. Louis right now. I'm getting playoff tickets for the first time in ages, so hopefully it'll last a few games this year. Not going to think about my beloved Blackhawks right now - I'm hoping they'll make it, but with Toews out, I'm not sure where they'll wind up.
Got an invite to my 25th high school reunion today. I have about three months to do something really scandalous.

Date: 2012-03-18 04:29 am (UTC)As much fun and as strategically proper as it would be, I'm not sure it would be noticeable from my spot in the 300 level.
Looking forward to listening to the programme. Did you happen to see this? You Can Play: Behind Patrick Burke's Bold Effort Using NHL Players to Fight Homophobia in Hockey
and
Sports Illustrated's Take on You Can Play - get the tissues handy
I'm willing to give you the Jets, Canadiens, Senators (go Ben Bishop!), Leafs, and the Alberta teams as well as the Isles, but I really have to draw the line at Detroit & Vancouver.
Enjoy the final stretch before the playoffs!

Date: 2012-03-19 07:55 am (UTC)I wish the same program would be started in all sports. It's a shame that athletes have to deal with homophobia and fear of being themselves.
